Jake Davis Test Shots

Jake Davis Test Shots: The Impossible Cool from Jake Davis on Vimeo.

This test shot is quite old but our conversation today reminded me to post this up. Featured in this video is Sean Sullivan who is the creator of the blog www.theimpossiblecool.com. When I first googled his blog the first thing I noticed was a quote underneath the site that read, "Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say and not giving a damn." That quote is pretty much bang on regarding our conversation today. I find it funny when I talk to friends and they talk about other people who "don't have style." I don't agree with this because I don't think style really has a definition. To me style is an experience. Whether people agree with other people's style is a fair statement to make but to me, everybody has style one way or another. This dude's steeze also reminded me of you haha. I don't know if you've ever peeped Jake Davis' test shot videos but to me they are pretty dope. They are short and don't seem to say much unless you really watch and pay attention. I'm obsessed with them.

SeaVees

There are a lot of companies doing the boat shoe, chukka and other classic shapes. I am feeling the stuff from SeaVees as an alternative to Sebago or Sperry. The stuff still has a unique touch which is obviously a plus.
Subtle details like the hand stiched toe and the simple somewhat 'nautical' colorways set these (and other models) apart from the 'sea' of other products.

Dr. Romanelli X Levi's

I've personally never really cared for Dr. Romanelli because their pieces are so out there and i'm a pretty subtle dresser, so I like to think anyway. I really like these though (minus the coloured shoelaces). Also, I've never liked denim shoes. Maybe it's because most denim shoes utilize a darker denim. I don't know what it is about these because usually I would find something like these hideous haha. They look like a fun shoe to wear in the summer though. I have a grey chambray that would pair perfectly with these. I haven't been wearing sneakers very often but I still enjoy the silhouette of my canvas chukkas the best, maybe that is why I like these. Ps. I shaved the shag. I'll post fit pics later. It feels HELLA weird and everybody at school stares at me.

Its your boyyy

I know we both love interviews and getting a glimpse into the minds of people in the 'industry' we covet...
Pretty good and thorough, give it a read!

re: History of the V stitch...

Ha! I thought this was sweet. Super interesting.
Notice the part about the v stitch being on the back. If you look at the new 2010 line for Reigning Champ, they include this on the back as well. Cool detail.
